A design study for a renewed passport system, built around national symbols, migration, folklore, regional landscapes, and the multilingual structure of Russia.

Cover(s)

There are a few ideas for the cover design. All of them have captions in Russian and English and the biometric passport symbol in the bottom right corner.

The first version of the cover shows constellations that are visible from Russia on July 22.

The second version features a flock of geese in flight. This species of geese annually migrates from the south to the north of Russia.

The third version depicts St. George the Victorious, which is also one of the strongest symbols of Russia. St. George is on horseback piercing a serpent with a spear. There is also a sun around him.

Pages and Layout

The first page contains all the basic information about the passport holder. This page also contains all the necessary security features that comply with international standards.

The layout of other pages is focused on the multinational component of Russia. There are more than 160 nationalities that reside in the country. Each speaks its own language and has customized traditions and folklore.

The illustrations are inspired by folk tales, landscapes of different regions of Russia, and history. All illustrations are made in watercolor style and by AI.
